Visited Sites

Derinkuyu Underground City
Mentioned as Cappdocia’s deepest Underground city, it has been opened to vistors in 1956. With it’s around 600 outside doors and seven floors to 85 metres depth, this Underground City were clearly built to withstand attacks and could support large numbers of people and their domestic animals for extended periods of time. Unfortunately so far only 10% can be visited, but you will be impressed by all the usual rooms as stables, cellars, storage rooms, refectories, churches, wineries and even a missionary school.

Ihlara Valley - Trek
The Ihlara Valley, formed by the Melendiz River thousands of years ago. It begins at Ihlara Village and ends with Selime Monastery at Selime Village. Early Christians have built over 4ooo dwellings and a hundred churches by carving the tuff formations. Ihlara can be translated as ‘ the people of circulating waters’ , how the about eighty thousand people once lived here, have been called, due to the 26 bends the Melendiz River follows.

Belisirma and Lunch
At Belisirma Village another beautiful view in a unique designed Restaurant awaits for a smorgasbord lunch - a misture of turkish and western food including dessert.

Pigeon Valley
In Cappadocia, pigeons have been a source of food and fertilizer over the centuries. As especially in this valley thousands of pigeon lofts have been carved into the soft tuff since ancient times, the valley is called Pigeon Valley.

Selime Monastry
One of the most unexpected suprises in Cappadocia is this wonderful rock-cut Monastery at the end of the Ihlara Valley. The size of this church is astonishing and is the biggest religious building in Cappadocia
Inside the cathedral are two rows of rock columns which are divide the building into three sections. It also includes secret passages, series of twistingsand ever-steeper rock stairways. A church with a gallery all around, a vast kitchen, as well as stables with feeding troughs, whih is another evidence of the troglodyte way of life.

Goreme Esentepe for Panoramic View
At the Esentepe Panoramic viewpoint between Uchisar and Goreme you will be impressed from the stunning view. Not only over the town of Esentepe, but especially by the unusual landscape with its unique fairy chimneys.
